Abstract:
The invention relates to an aluminum alloy for producing lithographic printing plate supports, to an aluminum strip produced of said aluminum alloy, to a method for producing the aluminum strip and to the use thereof for producing lithographic printing plate supports. The aim of the invention is to provide an aluminum alloy and an aluminum strip from an aluminum alloy which allows the production of printing plate supports having improved flexural fatigue strength at a right angle to the roller direction and improved thermal strength without deteriorating the properties during an electrochemical roughing process. The aluminum alloy according to the invention has the following alloy components in percent by weight: Fe < 0.4 %, 0.41 % ≤ Mg ≤ 0.7 %, 0.05 % ≤ Si ≤ 0.25 %, 0.1 % ≤ Mn ≤ 0.6 %, Cu ≤ 0.04 %, Ti < 0.1 %, Zn ≤ 0.1 %, Cr ≤ 0.1 %, remainder Al and inevitable impurities of not more than 0.05 % each and of not more than 0.15 % in total.
