Abstract:
The present invention relates to a method for preparing ethanol or organic acid using ethanol-resistant strains and, more specifically, to a method for preparing ethanol or organic acid using a recombinant prokaryotic microorganism with over-expressed fabA (β- hydroxydecanoyl thio ester dehydrase gene: fabA). According to the present invention, highly concentrated ethanol and organic acid can be prepared as the growth of the resistant strains is not inhibited in the course of the fermentation, even when highly concentrated ethanol produced by the microorganism is accumulated in a culture medium.
