Abstract:
Disclosed is a medical image processing apparatus which is capable of integrating a tomogram of a retina which is obtained by an OCT (Optical Coherence Tomography) and information about visual function which is obtained by a perimeter and providing effective information about glaucomatous characteristics. The medical image processing apparatus associates a visual field measurement result on an eyeground camera image (S420). Next, the medical image processing apparatus registers the distribution of layer thickness which is the thickness of a nerve fiber layer in the retina layer of an examinee's eye on the eyeground camera image associated with the visual field measurement result from the OCT tomogram (S440). Thereafter, the medical image processing apparatus presents information indicating the glaucomatous characteristics of the examinee's eye on the basis of the distribution of the layer thickness which is registered on the eyeground camera image and the visual field measurement result (S470).
