(EN)An armor plate transforms projectile energy into solid-state lattice waves and facilitates absorption of these waves at different wavelengths. For high frequency lattice waves, dopants are used for absorbing the lattice waves and converting them to thermal energy. Heavy dopants and layered materials can also be use for reflecting lattice waves to facilitate attenuation through absorption. A spreading layer can also be used for dispersing non-absorbed lattice waves.
(FR)L'invention porte sur une plaque de blindage, transformant l'énergie d'un projectile en ondes de réseau de semi-conducteurs et facilitant l'absorption de ces ondes à différentes longueurs d'onde. Pour des ondes de réseau haute fréquence, on utilise des dopants pour absorber les ondes de réseau et les convertir en énergie thermique. On peut également utiliser des dopants lourds et des matériaux à couche pour réfléchir les ondes de réseau afin de faciliter une atténuation par absorption. On peut également utiliser couche d'étalement pour disperser les ondes de réseau non absorbées.
