(EN)The separator of the present invention comprises: (a) a non-woven fabric base with pores; (b) fine thermoplastic powders put in the pores of the non-woven fabric base, the powders having an average particle size smaller than that of the pores and a melting point lower than the melting point or decomposition temperature of the non-woven fabric base; and (c) a porous coating layer disposed on at least one side of the non-woven fabric base, the layer containing a mixture of inorganic particles and a binder polymer having a melting point or decomposition temperature higher than the melting point of the fine thermoplastic powders, wherein the inorganic particles are interconnected and fixed with one another by the binder polymer, and interstitial volumes among the inorganic particles form pores in the porous coating layer. According to the present invention, it is possible to obtain a separator with a uniform porous coating layer since such a porous coating layer is formed after filling large pores formed in the non-woven fabric base with fine thermoplastic powders first. Therefore, by using the non-woven fabric base as the separator, an increase in CV interval due to a failure in charging or the occurrence of a leak current can be prevented. Moreover, with the fine thermoplastic powders, the separator of the present invention has a shutdown function and maintains cell stability even during a thermal runaway by means of the uniform porous coating layer.
(FR)L'invention concerne un séparateur qui comprend: (a) un base en tissu non tissé avec des pores; (b) des poudres thermoplastiques fines venant remplir les pores de cette base, ces poudres ayant une taille de particule moyenne inférieure à celle des pores et un point de fusion inférieur au point de fusion ou la température de décomposition de ladite base; et (c) une couche de revêtement poreuse sur au moins un côté de cette base, contenant un mélange de particules inorganiques et un polymère liant à point de fusion ou température de décomposition dépassant le point de fusion des poudres; les particules sont interconnectées et fixées mutuellement par le polymère liant, et des volumes interstitiels entre les particules forment des pores dans la couche de revêtement poreuse. Selon l'invention, il est possible d'obtenir un séparateur à couche de revêtement poreuse uniforme étant donné que cette couche est formée après remplissage des grands pores formés dans la base considérée d'abord avec des poudres thermoplastiques fines. Ensuite, l'utilisation de la base comme séparateur permet d'empêcher toute augmentation d'intervalle de tension constante imputable à un défaut de charge ou à un courant de fuite. Enfin, l'utilisation de poudres thermoplastiques fines fait que le séparateur selon l'invention a une fonction d'arrêt et maintient la stabilité des cellules même durant un emballement thermique grâce à la présence de la couche de revêtement poreuse uniforme.
(KO)본 발명의 세퍼레이터는 (a) 기공들을 갖는 부직포 기재; (b) 상기 부직포 기재의 기공들 내부에 위치하고, 상기 기공들의 평균입경보다 작은 평균입경을 가지며 상기 부직포 기재의 융점 또는 분해점보다 낮은 융점을 갖는 열가소성 미세분말들; 및 (c) 상기 부직포 기재의 적어도 일면 위에 위치하고, 무기물 입자들과 상기 열가소성 미세분말의 융점보다 높은 융점 또는 분해점을 갖는 바인더 고분자의 혼합물을 포함하며, 상기 무기물 입자들이 상기 바인더 고분자에 의해 서로 연결 및 고정되어 있고 상기 무기물 입자들 간의 빈공간(interstitial volume)으로 인해 형성된 기공들을 갖는 다공성 코팅층을 포함한다. 본 발명에 따르면, 부직포 기재에 형성된 큰 기공들을 열가소성 미세분말로 먼저 채운 후에 다공성 코팅층을 형성하므로서, 균일한 다공성 코팅층이 형성된 세퍼레이터를 얻을 수 있다. 이에 따라, 부직포 기재를 세퍼레이터로 사용함에 따라 충전이 되지 않거나 누설전류(leak current)의 발생에 의해 CV 구간이 길어지는 문제점을 방지할 수 있다. 또한, 열가소성 미세분말들로 인해 본 발명의 세퍼레이터는 셧다운 기능을 가지며, 열폭주시에도 균일한 다공성 코팅층으로 인해 전지의 안전성이 유지된다.
