(EN)The present invention relates to a video encoding/decoding apparatus and an adaptive overlapped block motion compensation method and an apparatus employing adaptive weights thereof. The adaptive overlapped block motion compensation apparatus employing adaptive weights in accordance with the present invention comprises: an RBMC(x,y) calculator calculating a residual signal RBMC(x,y) in block motion estimation; a DN(x,y) calculator calculating the difference DN(x,y) of pixel values between a motion compensated block and a current motion compensation block by using motion vectors of adjacent blocks; an additional information updating/setting unit updating and setting additional information for performing adaptive overlapped block motion compensation on the basis of the RBMC(x,y) and the DN(x,y); and an adaptive overlapped block motion compensator which performs the adaptive overlapped block motion compensation for each pixel of a regular unit on the basis of the additional information: progressing to a next pixel if an absolute value of the RBMC(x,y) is smaller than or equal to the additional information; and calculating the ROBMC(x,y) by determining a code of HN(x,y) so that an absolute value of the ROBMC(x,y) may get smaller than the absolute value of the RBMC(x,y), if the absolute value of the RBMC(x,y) is larger than the additional information. Therefore, the residual signal energy in a block border to be decoded is remarkably reduced with only a little additional information.
(FR)L'invention porte sur un appareil de codage/décodage vidéo, sur une méthode adaptative d'OBMC (compensation des mouvements par superposition de blocs) et sur l'appareil associé à pondération adaptative. L'appareil d'OBMC comprend : un calculateur du signal résiduel RBMC(x,y) dans l'estimation du mouvement de bloc; un calculateur de la différence DN(x,y) des valeurs de pixels entre un bloc compensé en mouvement et un bloc en cours de compensation de mouvement en utilisant les vecteurs de mouvement de blocs adjacents; une unité d'actualisation/établissement d'information additionnelle :exécutant une OBMC adaptative sur la base du RBMC(x,y) et de la DN(x,y); et un compensateur des mouvements par superposition de blocs : i) exécutant sur la base une OBMC adaptative pour chaque pixel d'une unité régulière sur la base de l'information additionnelle, ii) passant au pixel suivant si la valeur absolue du RBMC(x,y) est inférieure ou égale à l'information additionnelle, et iii) et calculant le ROBMC(x,y) en déterminant un code de HN(x,y) de manière à ce que ls valeur absolue du ROBMC(x,y) puisse devenir inférieure à celle du RBMC(x,y), si la valeur absolue du RBMC(x,y) est supérieure à l'information additionnelle. Ainsi, l'énergie résiduelle du signal en frontière de bloc à décoder est remarquablement réduite en n'utilisant qu'une petite information additionnelle.
(KO)본 발명은 동영상 부호화/복호화 장치 및 그를 위한 적응적 가중치를 사용하는 적응 중첩 블록 움직임 보상 방법 및 장치에 관한 것으로서, 본 발명에 따른 적응적 가중치를 사용하는 적응 중첩 블록 움직임 보상 장치는, 블록 움직임 추정 시의 잔여 신호 RBMC(x,y)를 산출하는 RBMC(x,y) 산출부; 인접한 블록의 움직임 벡터를 사용하여 움직임 보상된 블록과 현재 움직임 보상 블록 간의 화소 값의 차이 DN(x,y)를 구하는 DN(x,y) 산출부; RBMC(x,y) 및 DN(x,y)에 근거하여 적응적 중첩 블록 움직임 보상을 수행하기 위한 부가 정보를 갱신 및 설정하는 부가 정보 갱신/설정부; 및 상기 부가 정보에 근거하여 일정 단위의 각 화소에 대해 적응 중첩 블록 움직임 보상을 수행하되, RBMC(x,y)의 절대치가 상기 부가 정보보다 작거나 같을 경우 다음 화소로 진행하고, RBMC(x,y)의 절대치가 상기 부가 정보보다 클 경우 ROBMC(x,y)의 절대치 값이 RBMC(x,y)의 절대치 값보다 작아지도록 HN(x,y)의 부호를 정하여 ROBMC(x,y)를 산출하는 적응 중첩 블록 움직임 보상부를 포함하여 구성되어, 적은 부가 정보만으로 부호화해야 할 블록 경계 부의 잔여 신호 에너지를 크게 감소시킨다.
