Abstract:
It is made possible for the user to rapidly judge whether multiple-wavelength light can be transmitted or not when the optical transmission path is changed or the type of optical node devices is changed. Each optical node device which constitutes an optical transmission system superimposes low-frequency signals having the same frequency on a plurality of signal lights contained in the multiple-wavelength light. Each optical node device extracts the low-frequency signals from the superimposed signal light and analyzes the frequency spectrum of the extracted low-frequency signals. Based on the analyzed frequency spectrum, each optical node device measures the number of nodes passed. Consequently, when the optical transmission path is changed or the type of the optical node devices is changed, the number of nodes passed can be presented to the user and therefore the conventional process of making inquiries with a management system about the number of nodes passed by each optical node device can be eliminated. As a result, it is made possible for the user to rapidly judge whether multiple-wavelength light can be transmitted or not.
