Abstract

The present invention relates to the use and to a process involving at least one calix[n]arene derivative substituted by at least one acid functional group on the upper face and at least one aliphatic chain of variable length on the other face, as an additive for crystallization of a polar and/or positively charged molecule. The use and the process of the present invention have the advantage of enabling, facilitating and/or accelerating the crystallization of polar and/or positively charged molecules, especially of membrane proteins that are in solution or soluble, which had previously proved to be very difficult.

La présente invention se rapporte à l'utilisation et à un procédé faisant intervenir au moins un dérivé calix[n]arènique substitué par au moins une fonction acide sur la face supérieure et au moins une chaîne aliphatique de longueur variable sur l'autre face, en tant qu'additif de cristallisation d'une molécule polaire et/ou chargée positivement. L'utilisation et le procédé de la présente invention présentent l'avantage de permettre, faciliter et/ou accélérer la cristallisation de molécules polaires et/ou chargées positivement, notamment de protéines membranaires en solution ou solubles, jusque-là très difficilement.
