Title: METHOD FOR PURIFYING HIGH MOLECULAR WEIGHT POLYOXYALKYLENE DERIVATIVE
Abstract:
Disclosed is a method by which a high-purity high molecular weight polyoxyalkylene derivative can be produced by reducing impurities contained in the main component, said impurities being different from the polyoxyalkylene derivative in the numbers of hydroxy groups contained in each molecule. Specifically disclosed is a purification method for removing impurities having different numbers of hydroxy groups from a specific polyoxyalkylene derivative that has a molecular weight of 8800-100,000, said method comprising the following steps (A), (B), (C) and (D). Step (A): a step wherein a solution of a polyoxyalkylene derivative is obtained by dissolving the polyoxyalkylene derivative using an aprotic organic solvent in an amount of not less than 5 times the weight of the polyoxyalkylene derivative Step (B): a step wherein a slurry is formed by adding an adsorbent that is composed of an oxide containing either aluminum and/or silicon into the solution in an amount of 0.5-5 times the weight of the polyoxyalkylene derivative Step (C): a step wherein the slurry is stirred at a temperature of 25˚C or more Step (D): a step wherein the polyoxyalkylene derivative is collected from the slurry
