Title: INKJET RECORDING MEDIUM
Abstract:
Disclosed is a recording medium for inkjet use which has excellent inkjet recording properties, and has excellent production characteristics. The recording medium for inkjet use comprises an ink-receiving layer provided on at least one side of a supporting body by means of a cast coating method, wherein said ink-receiving layer contains a pigment and a binding agent. The pigment in the ink-receiving layer contains wet-method silica, in which particle size distribution measured using a volumetric scale by means of a laser diffraction scattering method has two peaks (PA, PB), wherein the 50% particle diameter (D50) is included in the range of particle diameters of distribution curve SA, which includes peak PA; the particle diameters in peak PB are smaller than those in peak PA, the particle diameters in distribution curve SB, which includes peak PB, being in the range 0.1 - 1 μm; and the volume ratio of the particles included in distribution curve SA to those in distribution curve SB is in the range 99.5:0.5 - 90:10. Every 100 parts of pigment in the ink-receiving layer contains 5 - 50 parts wet-method silica, by mass.
