Abstract:
A method of manufacturing a composite sheet for an absorptive article, the method manufacturing the composite sheet by joining, in a predetermined meandering pattern, continuous bodies of elastic band members to a continuous body of a sheet which is continuously conveyed in the conveyance direction. The method involves: performing first joining for joining, through a first rocking arm which rocks about a first support shaft section in the direction intersecting the conveyance direction, a first elastic band member to the sheet by sending the first elastic band member toward the sheet and causing the first elastic band member to make surface-contact with the sheet; and performing second joining for joining, through a second rocking arm which rocks about a second support shaft section in the direction intersecting the conveyance direction, a second elastic band member to the sheet by sending the second elastic band member toward the sheet and causing the second elastic band member to make surface-contact with the sheet. In the first joining, the first elastic band member supplied toward a first support shaft-side roller of the first rocking arm is placed onto and joined to the sheet after the direction of advance of the first elastic band member is reversed by sequentially passing the first elastic band member over both the outer peripheral surface of the first support shaft-side roller and the outer peripheral surface of a first rocking end-side roller of the first rocking arm. In the second joining, the second elastic band member supplied toward a second support shaft-side roller of the second rocking arm is placed onto and joined to the sheet after the direction of advance of the second elastic band member is reversed by sequentially passing the second elastic band member over both the outer peripheral surface of the second support shaft-side roller and the outer peripheral surface of a second rocking end-side roller of the second rocking arm and the second elastic band member. A first placement position at which the first rocking arm places the first elastic band member onto the sheet and a second placement position at which the second rocking arm places the second elastic band member onto the sheet are different from each other with respect to the conveyance direction.
