Abstract

A device comprising a plurality of LEDs arranged in a coplanar array, the coplanar array comprising an LED at the center and LEDs positioned radially symmetrically around the LED at the center, and wherein the central axes of the LEDs are arranged to be parallel to each other; a one-piece lens array collimating light from the LEDs, the lens array comprising a plurality of coplanar lens tiles, the coplanar lens tiles comprising a lens tile at the center and lens tiles positioned radially symmetrically around the lens tile at the center, and wherein the central axis of each of the lens tiles is aligned with the central axis of a corresponding LED; and a focusing lens converging the collimated light from the lens array into a single image in a focal plane, wherein the central axis of the focusing lens is aligned with the central axis of the lens array.

Le dispositif selon la présente invention comprend une pluralité de LED disposées dans un réseau coplanaire, lequel réseau coplanaire comprend une LED au centre et des LED placées de façon radiale et symétrique autour de la LED située au centre. Les axes centraux des LED sont disposés de manière à être parallèles les uns par rapport aux autres. Le dispositif comprend en outre un réseau de lentilles d'un seul tenant collimatant la lumière provenant des LED, lequel réseau de lentilles comprend une pluralité de carreaux de lentille coplanaires, lesdits carreaux de lentille coplanaires comprenant un carreau de lentille au centre et des carreaux de lentille placés de façon radiale et symétrique autour du carreau de lentille situé au centre. L'axe central de chaque carreau de lentille est aligné avec l'axe central d'une LED. Le dispositif comprend enfin une lentille de mise au point convergeant la lumière collimatée provenant du réseau de lentilles en une seule image dans un plan focal, l'axe central de la lentille de mise au point étant aligné avec l'axe central du réseau de lentilles.
