The present invention relates to an apparatus and to a method for encoding/decoding an image. The present invention provides an image encoding apparatus which intra-prediction encodes the current block, for each transform coefficient, in a plurality of intra-prediction modes for minimizing a rate-distortion cost, and outputs a bit stream. As the apparatus of the present invention can encode or decode the present block in an optimum intra-prediction mode for each pixel or coefficient, optimum image quality for a bit rate can be maintained while reducing the bit rate, thus improving compression efficiency.

La présente invention concerne un appareil et un procédé de codage/décodage d'une image. La présente invention concerne en particulier un appareil de codage d'images qui applique un codage par intra-prédiction au bloc en cours, pour chaque coefficient de transformation, dans une pluralité de modes d'intra-prédiction afin de minimiser un coût vitesse-distorsion, et émet un flux binaire. Comme l'appareil de la présente invention peut coder ou décoder le bloc en cours dans un mode d'intra-prédiction optimal pour chaque pixel ou coefficient, il est possible de maintenir une qualité d'image optimale pour un débit binaire donné tout en réduisant le débit binaire, ce qui permet d'améliorer le rendement de compression.

본 발명은 영상 부호화/복호화 장치 및 방법에 관한 것이다. 본 발명은 현재 블록을 변환 계수별로 율-왜곡 비용을 최소화하는 복수 개의 인트라 예측 모드로 인트라 예측 부호화하여 비트스트림을 출력하는 것을 특징으로 하는 영상 부호화 장치를 제공한다. 본 발명에 의하면, 현재 블록을 화소 또는 계수별로 최적의 인트라 예측 모드로 예측하여 부호화하거나 복호화할 수 있으므로, 비트 대비 최선의 화질을 유지하면서도 비트량을 줄일 수 있어, 압축 효율을 향상시킬 수 있다.
