Abstract

A surgical fastener apparatus including a handle, an elongated shaft having a proximal end attached to the handle and a distal end extending therefrom. An end effector comprising a pair of jaws pivoted at a proximal end thereof and movable between an open and closed position, and a cartridge containing a plurality of surgical fasteners, the cartridge attached to the end effector. An electrically powered actuator for deploying the surgical fasteners. An electrically activated reverse mechanism for moving the elongated member from a distal most position within the end effector to a proximal position, the electrically activated reverse mechanism moves the elongated member proximally after the elongated member has moved to the distal most position by moving the trigger to the open position, and wherein after activation of the reverse mechanism proximal movement of the elongated member can be stopped by returning the trigger to its closed position.

L'invention porte sur un appareil chirurgical de fixation comprenant un manche, un arbre allongé ayant une extrémité proximale fixée au manche et une extrémité distale s'étendant à partir de celui-ci. L'invention porte sur un effecteur terminal comprenant une paire de mâchoires pivotantes au niveau d'une extrémité proximale de celui-ci et mobile entre une position ouverte et fermée, et une cartouche contenant une pluralité de dispositifs chirurgicaux de fixation, la cartouche étant fixée à l'effecteur terminal. L'invention porte sur un actionneur alimenté à l'électricité et destiné à déployer les dispositifs chirurgicaux de fixation. L'invention porte sur un mécanisme inverse activé électriquement et destiné à déplacer l'élément allongé d'une position la plus distale dans l'effecteur terminal à une position proximale, le mécanisme inverse activé électriquement déplaçant l'élément allongé de façon proximale après que l'élément allongé ait été déplacé vers la position la plus distale par déplacement du déclencheur vers la position ouverte, et après activation du mécanisme inverse, le mouvement proximal de l'élément allongé pouvant être stoppé par retour du déclencheur à sa position fermée.
