Abstract:
(EN) A method and apparatus is described for optically scanning a field of view, the field of view including at least part of an organ as exposed during surgery, and for identifying and classifying areas of tumor within the field of view. The apparatus obtains a spectrum at each pixel of the field of view, and classifies pixels with a kNN-type or neural network classifier previously trained on samples of tumor and organ classified by a pathologist. Embodiments use statistical parameters extracted from each pixel and neighboring pixels. Results are displayed as a color- encoded map of tissue types to the surgeon. In variations, the apparatus provides light at one or more fluorescence stimulus wavelengths and measures the fluorescence light spectrum emitted from tissue corresponding to each stimulus wavelength. The measured emitted fluorescence light spectra are further used by the classifier to identify tissue types in the field of view.
(FR) La présente invention concerne une méthode et un appareil de balayage optique d'un champ de vision, le champ de vision comprenant au moins une partie d'un organe exposé pendant une opération chirurgicale, et d'identification et de classification de zones de la tumeur dans le champ de vision. L'appareil obtient un spectre à chaque pixel du champ de vision et classifie les pixels avec un classifieur de la famille des K plus proches voisins (kNN) ou à base réseaux de neurones au préalable entraînés sur des échantillons de tumeurs et d'organes classés par un pathologiste. Des modes de réalisation utilisent des paramètres statistiques extraits de chaque pixel et des pixels voisins. Les résultats s'affichent devant le chirurgien sous la forme d'une carte à code couleur des types de tissu. En variante, l'appareil procure de la lumière à une ou plusieurs longueurs d'onde de stimulus de fluorescence et mesure le spectre de lumière de fluorescence émise à partir du tissu correspondant à chaque longueur d'onde de stimulus. Les spectres de lumière de fluorescence émise mesurés sont ensuite utilisés par le classifieur pour identifier les types de tissu dans le champ de vision.
