Abstract:
(EN) Apparatus and method for electrostatic charging of a container (B) for an electrostatic coating operation includes a support member (32) for supporting a container during an electrostatic coating operation with the support member comprising a non-metallic conductive material or electrically semiconductive portion that directly contacts a surface of the container. The electrically semiconductive portion comprises non-metallic, resistive or low conductivity material and is coupled to a source of electrical energy such that the container is electrostatically charged to an opposite polarity to offset or reduce electrostatic charge build up produced by the electrostatic coating operation.
(FR) L'invention porte sur un appareil et sur un procédé pour la charge électrostatique d'un contenant (B) pour une opération de revêtement électrostatique. Ledit appareil comprend un élément de support (32) pour porter un contenant durant une opération de revêtement électrostatique, l'élément de support comportant un matériau conducteur non métallique ou une partie électriquement semi-conductrice qui vient directement en contact avec une surface du contenant. La partie électriquement semi-conductrice, qui comporte un matériau non métallique, résistif ou de faible conductivité, est couplée à une source d'énergie électrique, de telle sorte que le contenant est chargé de façon électrostatique à une polarité opposée afin de compenser ou de réduire la charge électrostatique accumulée produite par l'opération de revêtement électrostatique.
