Abstract:
(EN) Provided is a polar modulation apparatus that compensates for the output characteristic of a power amplifier.  A data generator (11) generates, from a baseband signal, an amplitude component signal and a phase component signal.  A phase modulator (12) generates a phase-modulated signal obtained by phase-modulating the phase component signal.  An adder (16) adds an amplitude offset voltage to the amplitude component signal.  A power amplifier (13), which is constituted by a first heterojunction bipolar transistor, uses the amplitude component signal to amplify the phase-modulated signal.  A monitor unit (14) monitors the power amplifier (13) to output a monitor voltage.  A control unit (15) calculates the amplitude offset voltage in accordance with the monitor voltage and outputs the calculated amplitude offset voltage to the adder (16).  The monitor unit (14), which is constituted by a second heterojunction bipolar transistor, outputs a collector-emitter voltage of the second heterojunction bipolar transistor as the monitor voltage.
(FR) L'invention porte sur un appareil de modulation polaire qui compense la caractéristique de sortie d'un amplificateur de puissance. Un générateur de données (11) génère, à partir d'un signal en bande de base, un signal de composante d'amplitude et un signal de composante de phase. Un modulateur de phase (12) génère un signal à phase modulée obtenu par modulation de phase du signal de composante de phase. Un additionneur (16) additionne une tension de décalage d'amplitude au signal de composante d'amplitude. Un amplificateur de puissance (13), qui est constitué par un premier transistor bipolaire à hétérojonction, utilise le signal de composante d'amplitude pour amplifier le signal à phase modulée. Une unité de surveillance (14) surveille l'amplificateur de puissance (13) pour délivrer une tension de surveillance. Une unité de commande (15) calcule la tension de décalage d'amplitude en fonction de la tension de surveillance et délivre la tension de décalage d'amplitude calculée à l'additionneur (16). L'unité de surveillance (14), qui est constituée par un second transistor bipolaire à hétérojonction, délivre une tension collecteur-émetteur du second transistor bipolaire à hétérojonction en tant que tension de surveillance.
