Abstract:
(EN) A method for scanning in a wireless network 3 comprises determining attributes for an on-going service of a mobile station, MS 5 and allocating scanning intervals for the MS depending on the determined attributes. The attributes for the ongoing service may include at least one of: type of service; and quality of service requirements. In one method, scanning intervals for the MS are allocated by a base station 4 also depending on the size of the neighbor cell list. The wireless network may, for example, be a WiMAX network.
(FR) L'invention concerne un procédé de balayage dans un réseau sans fil (3) qui consiste à déterminer des attributs pour un service continu d'une station mobile (5) et à attribuer des intervalles de balayage pour la station mobile en fonction des attributs déterminés. Les attributs pour le service continu peuvent inclure le type de service et/ou les exigences de qualité de service. Selon un exemple de procédé, des intervalles de balayage pour la station mobile sont attribués par une station de base (4) également en fonction de la taille de la liste de cellules voisines. Le réseau sans fil peut, par exemple, être un réseau WiMAX.
