Provided is a display element, which has simple member configuration, can be driven at a low voltage, has less characteristic change when repeatedly driven and has a high rewriting speed. The display element is provided with a pair of facing electrodes, uses electrochemical oxidation-reduction reaction, and has a metallocene compound fixed by chemical bonding on the electrode facing the display side electrode of the pair of electrodes.

La présente invention concerne un élément d'affichage qui présente une configuration simple, qui peut être commandé à basse tension, dont les caractéristiques évoluent moins quand il reçoit des commandes répétées, et qui dispose d’une vitesse de réécriture élevée. Cet élément d'affichage est équipé d'une paire d'électrodes se faisant face, utilise une réaction d’oxydoréduction électrochimique, et comporte un composé métallocène fixé par liaison chimique sur l'électrode faisant face à l'électrode côté affichage de la paire d'électrodes.
