A communication system is provided. A first communications device transmits at least one first message including predetermined bit sequences. A second communications device determines one or more antenna weighting vectors (AWVs) and one or more bitloading vectors (BLVs) by using the first message in accordance 5 with a predetermined rule and transmits a second message including information pertinent to the AWVs and the BLVs to the first communications device. The first communications device further communicates with the second communications device about an AWV selected from the AWVs and the first and second communications devices apply the selected AWV to the corresponding antennas 10 before exchanging data. The data includes a header carrying information pertinent to a BLV selected from the BLVs used to encode the data and a payload is transmitted to the second communications device. The second communications device decodes the data in accordance with the selected BLV.

Cette invention se rapporte à un système de communications. Un premier dispositif de communications transmet au moins un premier message qui comprend des séquences prédéterminées de bits. Un deuxième dispositif de communications détermine un ou plusieurs vecteurs de pondération d'antenne (AWV) et un ou plusieurs vecteurs de chargement de bits (BLV), à l'aide du premier message, selon une règle prédéterminée, et transmet au premier dispositif de communications un deuxième message qui comprend des informations qui se rapportent aux AWV et aux BLV. Le premier dispositif de communications communique en outre avec le deuxième dispositif de communications au sujet d'un AWV sélectionné parmi les AWV et les premier et deuxième dispositifs de communication appliquent l'AWV sélectionné aux antennes correspondantes avant l'échange de données. Les données comprennent un en-tête qui porte des informations qui se rapportent à un BLV sélectionné parmi les BLV utilisés pour coder les données et des données utiles sont transmises au deuxième dispositif de communications. Le deuxième dispositif de communications décode les données selon le BLV sélectionné.
