Abstract
(EN)
There is described a method for detecting the presence of skin tone in an image. A gray scale representation of a pixel within the image is provided. Next, a red chrominance independent representation for is provided for the pixel. Then, the two representations are analysed to determine whether a difference in value between the representations corresponds with a the presence of a skin tone value. The present invention provides a rapid skin tone detection classifier particularly useful for real time applications.

La présente invention concerne un procédé de détection de la présence d'une carnation dans une image. Le procédé consiste à effectuer une représentation en échelle de gris d'un pixel dans l'image, puis à effectuer une représentation de ce pixel, indépendante de la chrominance rouge, et à analyser les deux représentations afin de déterminer si une différence de valeur entre les représentations correspond à la présence d'une valeur de carnation. L'invention permet de disposer d'un classificateur à détection rapide de carnation particulièrement utile pour des applications en temps réel.
