Abstract:
(EN) A shroud, such as for an airborne wind-turbine for converting wind energy into another form of energy, such as electrical energy. The shroud has a ring-like shape with an airfoil cross-section and defines an interior volume for containing a lighter-than-air gas. The shroud includes a central opening oriented along a longitudinal axis of the shroud. The shroud is configured to produce an asymmetric moment of left and right lateral sections thereof, which asymmetric moment yields a restoring moment that automatically orients the longitudinal axis of the shroud substantially optimally relative to a prevailing wind direction.
(FR) L’invention concerne un anneau de renforcement, comme pour une éolienne aéroportée permettant de convertir de l’énergie éolienne en une autre forme d’énergie, comme de l’énergie électrique. L’anneau de renforcement présente la forme d’un anneau doté d’une section transversale de profil aérodynamique et définit un volume intérieur permettant de contenir un gaz plus léger que l’air. L’anneau de renforcement comprend une ouverture centrale orientée le long d'un axe longitudinal de l’anneau de renforcement. L’anneau de renforcement est conçu de manière à produire un moment asymétrique de ses sections latérales droite et gauche, ledit moment asymétrique produisant un moment redresseur qui oriente automatiquement l’axe longitudinal de l'anneau de renforcement de manière sensiblement optimale par rapport à la direction d’un vent dominant.
