Abstract

A vehicle electrical system comprises a generator, voltage regulator, electrical energy source, and control device. The generator provides electrical current to one or more electrical loads. Voltage transients from electrical load variations are suppressed by storing electrical energy of the field coil of the generator in the electrical energy source, and by proving electrical energy from the electrical energy source to the field coil. The control device comprises a controller and a charging module operative to maintain the voltage of the electrical energy source at a predetermined voltage that is above the regulation voltage so as to reduce the generator output voltage transients due to sudden variations in the one or more electrical loads.

La présente invention concerne le système électrique d'un véhicule, comprenant un générateur, un régulateur de tension, une source d'énergie électrique et un dispositif de commande. Le générateur fournit du courant électrique à une ou plusieurs charges électriques. Les transitoires de tension provoqués par des variations de charge électrique sont supprimés par stockage d'énergie électrique produite par la bobine de champ du générateur dans la source d'énergie électrique et par alimentation de la bobine de champ avec de l'énergie électrique provenant de la source d'énergie électrique. Le dispositif de commande comprend un contrôleur et un module de charge qui a pour fonction de maintenir la tension de la source d'énergie électrique à une tension prédéterminée qui est supérieure à la tension de régulation de façon à réduire les transitoires de tension de sortie du générateur dus à de brusques variations de la ou des charges électriques.
