(EN)Disclosed is a method for producing vinyl polymer microparticles each having a highly hydrophilized surface without deteriorating excellent physical properties including mechanical properties and other properties including particle-size-controlling properties inherent in vinyl polymer microparticles.  Also disclosed are the hydrophilized particles.  Specifically disclosed is a method for producing hydrophilized microparticles, which is characterized by comprising contacting a mixed gas essentially comprising a fluorine gas and a gas of a compound containing an oxygen atom with base particles to render the surfaces of the base particles hydrophilic, wherein the base particles comprise vinyl polymer microparticles having a mass average particle diameter of 1000 μm or less and the mixed gas contains the fluorine gas at a concentration of 0.01 to 1.0 vol%.

(JA) ビニル系重合体微粒子の有する優れた機械的特性等の各種物性、粒子径の制御性等の特性を損なうことなく、表面の親水化の度合いが高いビニル系重合体微粒子を得るための製造方法、およびこのような親水性粒子の提供。基材粒子に、フッ素ガスと酸素原子を含む化合物のガスとを必須的に含む混合ガスを接触させる処理を行って基材粒子の表面を親水化することにより親水化微粒子を製造する方法であって、質量平均粒子径1000μm以下のビニル系重合体微粒子を基材粒子とし、混合ガス中のフッ素ガス濃度を0.01~1.0体積%とすることを特徴とする親水化微粒子の製造方法である。
