(EN)An imaging device (12) images the region including an eye of the driver, and an eye opening detecting section (24) detects the opening of the eye.  A feature value extracting section (30) extracts multiple kinds of feature values of eyeblinking from time-series data about the detected eye opening using a normal closed-eye threshold, a higher closed-eye threshold, and a lower closed-eye threshold stored in a threshold storage section (28).  A threshold determining section (32) performs threshold determination of the multiple kinds of feature values of eyeblinking and a drowsiness determining section (34) determines the drowsiness of the driver according to the result of the threshold determination of the multiple kings of feature values of eyeblinking.  With this, the drowsiness determining device extracts the feature value of eyeblinking using the threshold adequate for the kind of feature value of eyeblinking, thereby determining the drowsiness accurately.

(JA) 撮像装置12によって、運転者の眼を含む領域を撮像し、眼開度検出部24によって、眼開度を検出する。そして、特徴量抽出部30によって、検出された眼開度の時系列データから、閾値記憶部28に記憶された標準的な閉眼閾値、値が大きい閉眼閾値、及び値が小さい閉眼閾値を用いて、複数種類の瞬目特徴量を抽出する。閾値判定部32によって、複数種類の瞬目特徴量について閾値判定を行い、眠気判定部34によって、複数種類の瞬目特徴量に対する閾値判定の結果に基づいて、運転者の眠気状態を判定する。このように、瞬目特徴量の種類に適した閾値を用いて瞬目特徴量を抽出し、精度よく眠気状態を判定することができるようにする。
