(EN)A mercury-free alkaline dry battery wherein discharge characteristics are improved by increasing the utilization rate of zinc which serves as a negative electrode active material. The mercury-free alkaline dry battery comprises a positive electrode, a negative electrode and a separator, and the negative electrode active material contains zinc particles (21) each having an almond shape.  Each almond-shaped zinc particle (21) has a length of not less than 1 mm but not more than 50 mm in the major axis direction, and one end portion (22) thereof in the major axis direction is formed into a sharp point.
(FR)La présente invention concerne une pile alcaline sèche sans mercure dont on améliore les caractéristiques de décharge en augmentant le taux d'utilisation du zinc utilisé comme matière cathodique active. Cette pile alcaline sèche sans mercure comprend une anode, une cathode et une séparation, la cathode contenant des particules de zinc (21) qui sont toutes en forme d'amande. Chaque particule de zinc en forme d'amande (21) présente dans son axe principal une longueur d'au moins 1 mm, sans excéder 50 mm, une extrémité (22) de la particule dans le sens de l'axe principal présentant une forme en pointe effilée.
