(EN)The present invention relates to classical pathway complement proteins and their use in the prognosis and prevention of diseases involving cone photoreceptor degeneration. Specifically, the present invention is directed to the use of one or more classical pathway complement proteins, preferably involved in the recognition phase, in the maintenance of cone photoreceptor cell viability in a degenerating retina. The invention is also directed to a method for determining the susceptibility, risk of development and/or progression of diseases involving cone photoreceptor degeneration in a subject.
(FR)La présente invention concerne les protéines de la voie classique du complément et leur utilisation dans le pronostic et la prévention de maladies impliquant la dégénérescence des photorécepteurs à cônes. La présente invention concerne spécifiquement l’utilisation d’une ou de plusieurs protéines de la voie classique du complément, de préférence impliquées dans la phase de reconnaissance, dans la conservation de la viabilité des cellules des photorécepteurs à cônes dans une rétine dégénérescente. L’invention concerne également un procédé de détermination de la susceptibilité, du risque développement et/ou de progression de maladies impliquant la dégénérescence des photorécepteurs à cônes chez un sujet.
