(EN)A method and device for incising tissue within the gastrointestinal tract is described. The device is an electrosurgical sphincterotome cutting device. The sphincterotome includes a pre-curved, heat set FEP distal tip. An electrically conductive cutting wire is positioned along the pre-curved distal tip. Manipulating a control handle tightens the cutting wire and incises and cauterizes target tissue. The curvature of the distal tip allows the sphincterotome to orient and steer itself towards a patient's sphincter as it emerges from an accessory channel of an endoscope.
(FR)La présente invention concerne un procédé et un dispositif permettant d’inciser un tissu dans le tractus gastro-intestinal. Ledit dispositif est un dispositif d’incision électrochirurgical pour sphinctérotome. Ledit sphinctérotome inclut une pointe distale de FEP thermo-fixée pré-courbée. Un câble d’incision électriquement conducteur est positionné le long de la pointe distale pré-courbée. On manipule une poignée de commande afin de resserrer le câble d’incision pour inciser et cautériser le tissu cible. La courbure de la pointe distale permet au sphinctérotome de s’orienter et de se guider en direction d’un sphincter de patient lorsqu’il émerge d’un canal auxiliaire d’un endoscope.
