(EN)A low THD lighting system is disclosed. The lighting system includes a first lighting module and a second lighting module connected parallel to the first lighting module. During each AC cycle the first lighting module conducts current for a first portion of the cycle and the second lighting module conducts current for a second portion of the cycle. When combined, the total current drawn from the power source substantially tracks the shape of the applied AC voltage. Accordingly, there is minimal distortion, and low total harmonic distortion level is achieved.
(FR)L'invention porte sur un système d'éclairage à distorsion d'harmonique totale (THD) faible. Le système d'éclairage comprend un premier module d'éclairage et un second module d'éclairage relié en parallèle au premier module d'éclairage. Durant chaque cycle du courant alternatif, le premier module d'éclairage conduit un courant pour une première partie du cycle et le second module d'éclairage conduit un courant pour une seconde partie du cycle. Lorsqu'ils sont associés, le courant total tiré à partir de la source d'alimentation suit sensiblement la forme de la tension alternative appliquée.
