(EN)The present invention relates to a device and method for image encoding/decoding using prediction direction conversion and selective encoding. The present invention provides an image encoding device that encodes the current block of an image, comprising a rectangular encoding part that, when a current block is input, divides it into rectangular block units and carries out stepwise encoding so as to output a rectangularly encoded bit stream; a square encoding part that, when a current block is entered, encodes it in square block units so as to output a square encoded bit stream; and an encoding selection part that computes the encoding cost of a rectangularly encoded bit stream and the encoding cost of a square encoded bit stream so as to output the bit stream with minimal encoding cost. According to the present invention, the prediction accuracy may be increased when encoding or decoding an image so that image encoding efficiency can be improved.
(FR)L'invention concerne un procédé et un dispositif de codage/décodage d'images au moyen d'une conversion de direction de prédiction et par codage sélectif. La présente invention comporte un dispositif de codage d'images qui code le bloc en cours d'une image et qui comporte une partie codage rectangulaire qui, lorsqu'un bloc en cours est entré, le divise en unités de bloc rectangulaires et réalise un codage graduel de manière à produire un flux binaire à code rectangulaire; une partie codage carré qui, lorsqu'un bloc en cours est entré, le code en unités de bloc carrées de manière à produire un flux binaire à code carré; et une partie sélection de codage qui calcule le coût de codage d'un flux binaire à code rectangulaire et le coût de codage d'un flux binaire à code carré, afin de produire le flux binaire au moindre coût de codage possible. Selon invention, la précision de prédiction peut être accrue lors du codage ou du décodage d'images pour augmenter l'efficacité de codage d'images.
(KO)본 발명은 예측 방향 전환과 선택적 부호화를 이용한 영상 부호화/복호화 장치 및 방법에 관한 것이다. 본 발명은 영상의 현재 블록을 부호화하는 장치에 있어서, 현재 블록이 입력되면 직사각형 블록 단위로 분할하여 단계적으로 부호화함으로써 직사각 부호화 비트스트림을 출력하는 직사각 부호화부; 현재 블록이 입력되면 정사각형 블록 단위로 부호화함으로써 정사각 부호화 비트스트림을 출력하는 정사각 부호화부; 및 직사각 부호화 비트스트림의 부호화 비용과 정사각 부호화 비트스트림의 부호화 비용을 계산하여 최소의 부호화 비용을 갖는 비트스트림을 출력하는 부호화 선택부를 포함하는 것을 특징으로 하는 영상 부호화 장치를 제공한다. 본 발명에 의하면, 영상을 부호화하거나 복호화할 때 예측의 정확도를 높일 수 있어 영상의 부호화 효율을 향상시킬 수 있다.
