(EN)The invention relates to a method of generating a place-frequency map for accurate positioning of a cochlear implant whereby the place-frequency map is used to relate a physical position of the cochlear implant to a tonotopic map of the basilar membrane/spiral ganglion. The invention also relates to a method of electrically positioning of an already inserted cochlear implant within the cochlea to provide stimuli to only the parts of the cochlea that have reduced or no residual hearing.
(FR)La présente invention concerne un procédé de production d’une carte place-fréquence permettant de positionner avec précision un implant cochléaire. Ladite carte place-fréquence est utilisée pour relier une position physique de l’implant cochléaire à une carte tonotopique de la membrane basilaire/du ganglion de Corti. L’invention a également trait à un procédé de positionnement électrique d’un implant cochléaire déjà inséré dans la cochlée, destiné à fournir un stimulus uniquement aux parties de la cochlée qui présentent une audition résiduelle ou réduite.
