(EN)The present invention relates to a system for measuring a transmission bandwidth that calculates a transmission bandwidth not by transmitting a measurement packet to the receiving side, but rather by using a transmission packet to be transmitted to a receiving side, and streams media data to the receiving side by using the transmission bandwidth, in a service for streaming media data such as motion pictures or the like, on a real-time basis, as well as to a method for same. The system for measuring a transmission bandwidth according to the present invention includes: a server for transmitting a pair of data packets to a receiving apparatus, receiving received time information on the reception of the data from the receiving apparatus, calculating a transmission bandwidth on the basis of the received time information, and streaming the media to the receiving apparatus by using the calculated transmission bandwidth; and a receiving apparatus for receiving the transmitted data, recording received time information for each of the transmitted data packets, transmitting the recorded received time information to the server by a predetermined cycle, and receiving streaming media from the server. According to the present invention, transmission bandwidth can be measured not by using a measurement packet, but rather by using data to be actually transmitted. Moreover, the loss of bandwidth caused by additional measurement packets can be prevented, and streaming media such as motion pictures or the like which is suited to a transmission bandwidth can be efficiently performed. Further, streaming of media suiting to a transmission bandwidth meets QoS (Quality of Service) requirements.
(FR)L'invention concerne un système de mesure de largeur de bande de transmission permettant de calculer une largeur de bande de transmission non pas en transmettant un paquet de mesure à destination de l'extrémité de réception mais plutôt en utilisant un paquet de transmission destiné à être transmis à l'extrémité de réception, et permettant ensuite d'assurer la diffusion de données multimédia en continu vers l'extrémité de réception au moyen de la largeur de bande de transmission, dans le cadre d'un service de diffusion en continu de données multimédia du type images en mouvement ou autres et sur la base d'un fonctionnement en temps réel. L'invention concerne aussi un procédé correspondant. Ledit système comprend: un serveur assurant la transmission d'une paire de paquets de données multimédia à destination d'un appareil de réception, la réception d'information de temps de réception à la réception des données depuis cet appareil, le calcul d'une largeur de bande de transmission à partir de ladite information, et la diffusion en continu des données multimédia à destination de l'appareil de réception selon la largeur de bande de transmission calculée; et un appareil de réception pour la réception des données transmises, l'enregistrement de l'information de temps de réception pour chacun des paquets de données transmis, la transmission de cette information enregistrée à destination du serveur suivant un cycle préétabli, et la réception de données multimédia de diffusion en continu. Selon l'invention, on peut mesurer la largeur de bande de transmission non pas en utilisant un paquet de mesure mais plutôt en utilisant les données destinées à être effectivement transmises. En outre, cette technique permet d'éviter la perte de largeur de bande engendrée par la transmission de paquets de mesure additionnels, et d'assurer efficacement la diffusion en continu de données multimédia, du type images en mouvement ou autres, appropriée à une largeur de bande de transmission. Enfin, la diffusion en continu de données multimédia appropriée à une largeur de bande de transmission répond aux exigences de qualité de service (QoS).
(KO)본 발명은 동영상 등의 미디어 데이터를 실시간으로 스트리밍하는 서비스에서, 수신측으로 측정 패킷을 전송하지 않고 수신측으로 전송하려는 전송 패킷을 이용해 전송 대역폭을 산출하고, 이 전송 대역폭을 이용해 미디어 데이터를 수신측으로 스트리밍할 수 있도록 하는, 미디어 스트리밍을 위한 전송 대역폭 측정 시스템 및 그 방법에 관한 것이다. 본 발명에 따른 전송 대역폭 측정 시스템은, 전송 데이터를 패킷쌍으로 수신 장치로 송출하여 상기 수신 장치로부터 상기 전송 데이터를 수신한 수신 시간 정보를 수신하고, 상기 수신 시간 정보를 근거로 전송 대역폭을 산출하며, 상기 전송 대역폭을 이용해 상기 수신 장치로 미디어를 스트리밍하는 서버; 및 상기 전송 데이터를 수신하고, 수신된 전송 데이터의 각 패킷에 대한 수신 시간 정보를 기록하며, 특정 주기로 기록한 수신 시간 정보를 상기 서버로 전송한 후 상기 서버로부터 미디어를 스트리밍받는 수신 장치를 포함한다. 본 발명에 의하면, 측정 패킷을 사용하지 않고 실제 전송 데이터를 이용해 전송 대역폭을 측정할 수 있다. 또한, 추가적인 측정 패킷에 의한 대역폭의 손실을 방지하고, 동영상 등의 미디어를 대역폭에 맞게 효율적으로 스트리밍 할 수 있다. 그리고, 전송 대역폭에 맞추어 미디어를 스트리밍하게 됨에 따라 OoS(Quality of Service)를 만족하는 서비스를 제공할 수 있다.
