Abstract:
(EN) The disclosure provides methods for preparation of multiphasic micro-components, such as core-shell or Janus multiphasic particles with well-defined structures using electrohydrodynamic co-jetting of two polymer solutions containing polyelectrolytes. Suitable polyelectrolytes include polyacrylic acid (PAA), poly(acrylamide acrylic acid (PAAm), and/or poly(acryl amide-co-acrylic acid) (PAAm-AA), sodium polystyrene sulfonate (PSS), copolymers, and combinations of these. Control of certain variables, such as relative conductivities of the two jetting solutions, controls the particle morphologies formed, leading to a predetermined phase orientation for the same polymer system. In certain aspects, after cross-linking, core-shell particles are stable in aqueous solutions and exhibit reproducible swelling behavior, while maintaining the original core-shell geometry. In addition, micro-components formed in accordance with the present teachings are pH-responsive based on external environmental pH. Thus, such micro-components are useful for a variety of different applications, including micro- and nano-active ingredient delivery systems.
(FR) La présente invention a pour objet des procédés pour la préparation de microcomposants multiphasiques, tels que des particules multiphasiques à cœur et à coque ou des particules Janus ayant des structures bien définies au moyen de la co-pulvérisation à jet électro-hydrodynamique de deux solutions polymères contenant des polyélectrolytes. Les polyélectrolytes appropriés comprennent l’acide polyacrylique (PAA), le poly(acide acrylique acrylamide) (PAAm), et/ou le poly(acide acrylique-co-acrylamide) (PAAm-AA), le polystyrène sulfonate de sodium (PSS), les copolymères, et les combinaisons de ceux-ci. Le contrôle de certaines variables, telles que les conductivités relatives des deux solutions de pulvérisation à jet, contrôle les morphologies particulaires formées, conduisant à une orientation de phase prédéterminée pour le même système de polymère. Dans certains aspects, après réticulation, les particules à cœur et à coque sont stables en solutions aqueuses et manifestent un comportement de gonflement reproductible, tout en conservant la géométrie à cœur et à coque d’origine. De plus, les microcomposants formés conformément aux présents enseignements sont sensibles au pH sur la base du pH de l’environnement extérieur.
