[ EN ]

What is claimed is:

1. A vehicle (100) comprising a vehicle frame (116), a prime mover (130) attached to the frame, wheels (108, 110) supporting the frame, a floorboard (360), and a foot control (204, 206) adjacent the floor board, characterized in that the floorboard has a plurality of contact points (520, 522) for contacting an operator's foot when operating the foot control.

2. The vehicle of claim 1 , characterized in that the plurality of contact points are defined by an undulation in or on the floorboard.

3. The vehicle of claim 2, characterized in that the undulation is defined by a recess (502) in the floorboard.

4. The vehicle of claim 3, characterized in that the recess is defined by a generally flat bottom portion (504) and at least one adjoining wall (506, 508, 510, 512).

5. The vehicle of claim 3 or 4, characterized in that the recess is generally rectangular.

6. The vehicle of any of claims 3-5, characterized in that the recess further comprises a laterally extending groove (514).

7. The vehicle of any of claims 1 -6, further characterized by a plurality of foot control members (204, 206).

8. The vehicle of any of claims 3-7, characterized in that the recess laterally overlaps at least a portion of the plurality of foot control members.

9. The vehicle of claim 7 or 8, characterized in that the plurality of foot control members comprises an accelerator (204) and a brake pedal (206).

10. A vehicle (100) comprising a vehicle frame (116), a prime mover (130) attached to the frame, wheels (108, 110) supporting the frame and driven by the prime mover, a floorboard (360), and a foot control (204, 206) adjacent the floor board, characterized in that the floorboard has a footwell (502) for receiving the heel of an operator's foot when operating the foot control.

11. The vehicle of claim 10, characterized in that the footwell is defined by a generally flat bottom portion and at least one side edge (506, 508, 510, 512).

12. The vehicle of claim 11 , characterized in that the at least one side edge (508) is profiled to contact the bottom of the operator's foot when the operator's heel is in the footwell.

13. The vehicle of any one of claims 10-12, characterized in that the footwell is generally rectangular.

14. The vehicle of any of claims 10-13, further characterized by a plurality of foot control members (204, 206).

15. The vehicle of claim 14, characterized in that the footwell in the floorboard laterally overlaps at least a portion of the plurality of foot control members

16. The vehicle of claim 14 or 15, characterized in that the plurality of foot control members comprises an accelerator (204) and a brake pedal (206).

17. The vehicle of any of claims 10-16, characterized in that the recess further comprises a laterally extending groove (514) formed in the flat bottom portion to define the location of the heel of the operator's foot, when in the recess.

18. The vehicle of claim 17, characterized in that the groove extends rearwardly as it progresses from a position adjacent a longitudinal centerline, to a laterally outward position.

19. A vehicle (100) comprising a vehicle frame (116), a prime mover (130) attached to the frame, wheels (108, 110) supporting the frame and driven by the prime mover, a floorboard (360), and a plurality of foot controls (204, 206) adjacent the floor board, characterized in that the floorboard has a groove (514) laterally flanking the plurality of foot controls, the groove being profiled to define a location for the heel of an operator's foot when operating the plurality of foot controls.

20. The vehicle of claim 19, further comprising a recess (502) for receiving the heel of an operator's foot when operating the foot control, the laterally extending groove formed in the recess.

21. The vehicle of claim 20, characterized in that the recess is defined by a generally flat bottom portion and at least one side edge (506, 508, 510, 512).

22. The vehicle of claim 20 or 21 , characterized in that the recess is generally rectangular.

23. The vehicle of any of claims 20-22, characterized in that the recess in the floorboard laterally overlaps at least a portion of the plurality of foot control members.

24. The vehicle of any of claims 19-23, characterized in that the plurality of foot control members comprises an accelerator (204) and a brake pedal (206).

25. The vehicle of any of claims 20-24, characterized in that the groove extends rearwardly as it progresses from a position adjacent a longitudinal centerline, to a laterally outward position.

26. The vehicle of any of claims 19-25, characterized in that the recess defines a plurality of contact points (520, 522) for contacting an operator's foot when operating the foot control.

27. The vehicle of any of claims 21 -26, characterized in that the groove is defined in the flat bottom portion of the recess.
