The invention relates to a system for inspection of a three-dimensional environment by a user, comprising a tool (3) arranged to be introduced in a vicinity of the three-dimensional environment (1), said tool comprising one or more cameras (4) arranged at or near a distal end of the tool, said one or more cameras being arranged to generate respective images of the three-dimensional environment; a display unit (8) arranged to receive said respective images; a motion tracking system (11) arranged to determine a position of at least a portion of the user for selecting an image generated by said cameras or for causing the one or more cameras to generate the image on demand and for displaying the image (9) on the display (8). The invention further relates to a method, a tool, adisplay unit for enabling inspection of an object by a user as well as to use of a tool comprising at least one camera in the system as set forth in the foregoing.

L'invention porte sur un système d'inspection d'un environnement tridimensionnel par un utilisateur, comprenant un outil (3) conçu pour être introduit au voisinage de l'environnement tridimensionnel (1), ledit outil comprenant une ou plusieurs caméras (4) disposées au niveau ou à proximité d'une extrémité distale de l'outil, ladite ou lesdites caméras étant conçues pour générer des images respectives de l'environnement tridimensionnel; une unité d'affichage (8) conçue pour recevoir lesdites images respectives; un système de suivi de mouvement (11) conçu pour déterminer la position d'au moins une partie de l'utilisateur de façon à sélectionner une image générée par lesdites caméras ou pour amener la ou les caméras à générer l'image à la demande et pour afficher l'image (9) sur le dispositif d'affichage (8). L'invention porte en outre sur un procédé, un outil, une unité d'affichage destinés à permettre l'inspection d'un objet par un utilisateur ainsi que sur l'utilisation d'un outil comprenant au moins une caméra dans le système tel que celui établi dans ce qui précède.
