(EN)A rotor is provided for the centrifugal separation of a composite fluid, such as animal or human blood, into components. An inner surface of the rotor includes at least one hydrophobic area having a first surface energy sufficiently low to provide a flow path for a lower density fluid component to flow to the bottom of a central collection chamber after centrifugal separation. A method of separating a composite fluid into components using such a rotor is also provided. Additionally, a method of manufacturing such a rotor is provided.
(FR)La présente invention concerne un rotor conçu pour séparer par centrifugation les composants d'un fluide composite tel que le sang animal ou humain. Une surface intérieure du rotor comporte au moins une zone hydrophobe dont la tension superficielle est suffisamment basse pour constituer un chemin d'écoulement permettant à un composant fluide de densité inférieure de s'écouler vers le fond d'une chambre de collecte centrale après séparation par centrifugation. L'invention concerne également un procédé de séparation des composants d'un fluide composite au moyen d'un tel rotor. L'invention concerne en outre un procédé de fabrication d'un tel rotor.
