(EN)A modified zircon-based refractory material comprising TiO2 and Y2O3 having a density in certain embodiments higher than 4.00 g•cm-3, and method of making such zircon materials. The process involves the use of zircon particles having a multi-modal particle distribution curve in making the green body. The material exhibits an improved performance in creep rate. The invention is particularly useful for making zircon-based isopipes for fusion down-draw forming of glass sheet materials.
(FR)L'invention concerne un matériau réfractaire à base de zircon modifié comprenant TiO2 et Y2O3, présentant une densité dans certains modes de réalisation supérieure à 4,00 g•cm-3, et un procédé de fabrication de ces matériaux à base de zircon. Le processus implique l'utilisation de particules de zircon présentant une courbe de distribution multimodale de particules lors de la fabrication du corps cru. Le matériau présente une vitesse de glissement plus performante. L'invention sert notamment à fabriquer des conduits isolés à base de zircon pour la formation par fusion et par étirage vers le bas de feuilles de verre.
