(EN)A small gauge mechanical tissue cutter/aspirator probe useful for removing the trabecular meshwork of a human eye has a generally cylindrical outer cannula, an inner cannula that reciprocates in the outer cannula, a port located near or at the distal end of the outer cannula on a side or tip of the outer cannula, and a guide with a distal surface located on the distal end of the outer cannula. A distance between the distal surface of the guide and the port is approximately equal to the distance between the back wall of Schlemm's canal and the trabecular meshwork.
(FR)La présente invention concerne un instrument de petit calibre à bistouri mécanique et sonde d'aspiration permettant de réaliser l'ablation du trabéculum cornéoscléral d'un œil humain. Il comporte une canule externe généralement cylindrique et d'une canule interne en va-et-vient dans la canule externe, un orifice situé à proximité ou au niveau de l'extrémité distale de la canule externe, sur un côté ou la pointe de la canule externe, et un guide dont une surface distale est située à l'extrémité distale de la canule externe. La distance entre la surface distale du guide et l'orifice est approximativement égale à la distance entre la paroi postérieure du canal scléral et le trabéculum cornéoscléral.
