(EN)A method for compression and/or decompression of bio-medical images such as DNA sequencing images is provided. The method comprises regeneration of a complete image using multiple distribution functions generated on the fly. The compression ratio achieved is in the order of 10 to 20 times, and is near lossless with respect to the clinically relevant information; which makes it well suited for these DNA sequencing images.
(FR)L'invention concerne un procédé de compression et / ou décompression d'images biomédicales telles que des images de séquençage d'ADN. Le procédé comporte une étape de régénération d'une image complète à l'aide de fonctions de répartition multiples générées à la volée. Le taux de compression obtenu est de l'ordre d'un facteur 10 à 20, quasiment sans pertes en termes d'informations cliniquement pertinentes, ce qui en fait un procédé bien adapté auxdites images de séquençage d'ADN.
