(EN)A polymeric composition comprising a styrenic polymer and a plasticizer, wherein the plasticizer comprises a polyisoalkylene and wherein the composition has a Vicat softening point of from 210 °F to 217 °F. A method of increasing the impact strength of a styrenic polymer comprising contacting the styrenic polymer with an elastomer and a polyisoalkylene. A method of preparing a high impact polystyrene comprising introducing styrene monomer, an elastomer, polyisobiitylene and mineral oil to a reaction zone under conditions suitable for the formation of a styrenic polymer.
(FR)L’invention concerne une composition polymère contenant un polymère styrénique et un plastifiant, le plastifiant contenant un polyisoalkylène et la composition présentant un point de ramollissement Vicat compris entre 210°F et 217°F. L’invention concerne également un procédé destiné à augmenter la résistance aux chocs d’un polymère styrénique, consistant à mettre le polymère styrénique en contact avec un élastomère et un polyisoalkylène. L’invention concerne également un procédé de préparation d’un polystyrène antichoc, consistant à introduire un monomère de styrène, un élastomère, du polyisobiitylène et une huile minérale dans une zone de réaction, dans des conditions appropriées pour la formation d’un polymère styrénique.
