Abstract
(EN) The present invention provides a material decomposition method capable of determining the distribution of density and constituent material concentration throughout an imaged object. The concentration, in the form of a mass fraction, mass percent, weight fraction, or weight percent, is determined from CT images acquired at different energy levels. The ratio of attenuation coefficients associated with one energy level to attenuation coefficients associated with another energy level is determined and used as an index in a lookup table to determine the concentration of a given material throughout the imaged object.
(FR) La présente invention concerne une méthode de décomposition de matière qui est capable de déterminer la distribution de la densité et de la concentration des matières constitutives dans un objet qui a été imagé. La concentration, sous forme d'une fraction en masse, d'un pourcentage en masse, d'une fraction de poids ou d'un pourcentage en poids, est déterminée à partir des images CT acquises à différents niveaux d'énergie. Le rapport entre les coefficients d'atténuation associés à un niveau d'énergie et les coefficients d'atténuation associés à un autre niveau d'énergie est déterminé et utilisé en tant qu'index dans une table de consultation pour déterminer la concentration d'une matière donnée dans l'objet qui a été imagé.
