(EN)To acquire a quantized bit number of (n+α) bits by performing an extension of α bits (5) to a voice signal quantized to n bits. (FR)L'invention vise à acquérir un nombre (n+α) de bits quantifiés en effectuant une extension de α bits (5) sur un signal vocal quantifié sur n bits. Une section de filtre unidimensionnel au m-ième &egr; élimine une distorsion causée par un déficit du nombre de bits de quantification en appliquant un processus de filtrage unidimensionnel au m-ième &egr; à des données d'origine comportant (n+α) bits et en effectuant un lissage des données étendues en bits(6). En revanche, lorsqu'un signal dont l'amplitude est modifiée de façon abrupte et importante est fourni en entrée, le filtre unidimensionnel au m-ième &egr; n'effectue pas le lissage.
