(EN)A technique for identifying a vein in a patient is disclosed. The technique involves the application of a thermochromic ink to a venous area on the skin of a patient (e.g., human or animal). The thermochromic ink comprises thermosensitive color-changing microcapsules that contain a proton-accepting chromogen and a desensitizer. The desensitizer possesses a melting point above which the chromogen is capable of becoming protonated, thereby resulting in a color change. Thereafter, the venous area is observed for the color change.
(FR)L'invention concerne une technique d'identification d'une veine chez un patient. Ladite technique consiste à appliquer une encre thermochrome sur une zone veineuse de la peau du patient (par exemple, humain ou animal). L'encre thermochrome comprend des microcapsules thermosensibles changeant de couleur, qui contiennent un chromogène accepteur de protons et un désensibilisateur. Le désensibilisateur présente un point de fusion au-dessus duquel le chromogène peut être protoné, générant ainsi un changement de couleur. La zone veineuse est ensuite observée pour détecter le changement de couleur.
