Abstract

Method of controlling a four-stroke internal combustion engine. The engine comprises an intake circuit for air/fuel mixture and an exhaust circuit for combusted gases that communicates with a combustion chamber of at least one cylinder of the engine. The communications of the intake and exhaust circuits can each be shut off by at least one valve, an intake valve and exhaust valve respectively. A piston describes a reciprocating movement in the cylinder that comprises a downstroke of the piston from the top dead centre towards the bottom dead centre and an upstroke of the piston from the bottom dead centre towards the top dead centre. The intake valve (18) is opened at the start of the rising phase of the piston in order to recirculate a fraction of the combusted gases towards the intake circuit.

Procédé de commande d'un moteur à combustion interne à quatre. Le moteur comporte un circuit d'admission de mélange air/carburant et un circuit d' échappement de gaz brûlés qui communique avec une chambre de combustion d'au moins un cylindre du moteur. Les communications des circuits d' admission et d'échappement sont susceptibles d'être obturées chacune par au moins une soupape, respectivement d'admission et d'échappement. Un piston décrit un mouvement de va-et- vient dans le cylindre comprenant une course descendante du piston du point mort haut vers le point mort bas et une course ascendante du piston du point mort bas vers le point mort haut. On commande l'ouverture de la soupape d'admission (18) en début de phase de remontée du piston afin de provoquer une recirculation d'une partie des gaz brûlés vers le circuit d'admission.
