Cognitive radio with the intelligent capabilities of opportunistic spectrum access has been proposed as an enabling element of next generation digital communications. However, the methods of wireless traffic prioritization under cognitive radio systems are missing in prior arts. The invention therefore discloses such traffic prioritization methods which can be applied in diverse cognitive radio implementations. The disclosed methods in principle enforce lower interference probabilities over higher- priority traffics. The spectrum sensing policies are then designed in such a way that higher-priority traffics are associated with clearer spectrum assessments. Moreover, the disclosed methods do not exert any additional communication overhead, so as to maximize the implementation efficiency; and are compatible with the prior arts of traffic prioritization in conventional communication systems. Numerous embodiments are elaborated in the disclosure without deviating from the design principle.

Une radio cognitive dotée de capacités intelligentes d'accès opportuniste au spectre a été proposée en tant qu'élément d'activation des communications numériques de la prochaine génération. Cependant, les procédés de hiérarchisation de trafic sans fil dans des systèmes de radio cognitive font défaut dans les techniques antérieures. L'invention concerne par conséquent de tels procédés de hiérarchisation de trafic qu'il est possible d'appliquer dans diverses mises en œuvre de radio cognitive. Les procédés décrits font valoir en principe des probabilités d'interférences plus faibles sur des trafics à priorité plus élevée. Des politiques de détection de spectre sont ensuite conçues de telle manière que des trafics à priorité plus élevée soient associés à des estimations de spectre plus claires. En outre, les procédés décrits n'impliquent aucun surdébit de communication supplémentaire, de manière à maximiser l'efficacité de la mise en application; et ils sont compatibles avec les techniques antérieures de hiérarchisation de trafic dans des systèmes de communication classiques. De nombreux modes de réalisation sont élaborés dans la description sans s'écarter du principe de conception.
