A transit-time flow sensor determines a rate at which fluid flows by measuring a propagation time difference between upstream and downstream acoustic transmissions. This may involve providing an acoustic path consisting of sequentially traversed path segments and a repeating arrangement that uses the energy in a received pulse to repeat the pulse in the next sequential segment.

L'invention porte sur un capteur d'écoulement à temps de transit, déterminant un débit auquel un fluide s'écoule par la mesure d'une différence de temps de propagation entre des transmissions acoustiques aval et amont. Ceci peut mettre en jeu la disposition d'un trajet acoustique constitué par des segments de trajet traversés séquentiellement et d'un agencement se répétant qui utilise l'énergie d'une impulsion reçue afin de répéter l'impulsion dans le prochain segment séquentiel.
