A near-field optical head comprises: a slider disposed so as to be levitated from a surface of a magnetic recording medium by a predetermined distance and having an opposing surface opposing the surface of the magnetic recording medium; a top surface formed on the opposing surface, having a base contacting the opposing surface, and formed by cutting the vertex of a cone with a plane forming a predetermined angle with the base; a tip-shaped near-field light generating element having a side surface connecting the base with the top surface and generating near-field light from the top surface; a magnetic pole portion including a main pole formedon the side surface and a sub pole opposing the main pole; a thin-film magnetic circuit connected to the magnetic pole portion; and a coil wound around the periphery of the magnetic circuit.

Tête optique en champ proche comprenant : un coulisseau disposé de sorte à être soulevé par lévitation à une distance prédéterminée d'une surface d'un support d'enregistrement magnétique et ayant une surface d'opposition opposée à la surface du support d'enregistrement magnétique ; une surface supérieure formée sur la surface d'opposition, ayant une base en contact avec la surface d'opposition et formée en coupant le sommet d'un cône avec un plan formant un angle prédéterminé avec la base ; un élément générateur de lumière en champ proche de forme pointue ayant une surface latérale connectant la base à la surface supérieure et générant une lumière en champ proche depuis la surface supérieure ; une partie pôle magnétique comprenant un pôle principal formé sur la surface latérale et un pôle inférieur opposé au pôle principal ; un circuit magnétique à couche mince connecté à la partie pôle magnétique ; et une bobine enroulée autour de la périphérie du circuit magnétique.
