Abstract:
(EN) The present invention includes systems and methods for detecting fluid flow into or out of a port chamber (44) or a reservoir of an implantable medical device utilizing a pressure sensor (14). The system detects characteristic pressure profiles associated with fluid flowing into the medical device, out of the medical device, and also whether one or both of the port chamber or reservoir are substantially empty or substantially full. In addition, the present invention may generate a sensory cue to a clinician to indicate the fluid status.
(FR) L'invention concerne des systèmes et des procédés pour détecter un flux de liquide à l'intérieur ou à l'extérieur d'une chambre à orifice (44) ou d'un réservoir d'un dispositif médical implantable en utilisant un capteur de pression (14). Le système détecte des profils de pression caractéristiques associés à l'écoulement de fluide à l'intérieur du dispositif médical, à l'extérieur du dispositif médical, et également si un parmi la chambre à orifice ou le réservoir ou les deux sont essentiellement vides ou essentiellement pleins. De plus, la présente invention peut générer un repère sensible afin d'indiquer à un clinicien le statut du fluide.
