Abstract

The present invention concerns a modelling/bending system of surgical prosthesis (6) used in the correction of pectus excavatum, allowing its pre-operative personalization according to the thoracic morphology of each patient. Based on the information of the thoracic CT-scan, the system allows the application of a personalized prosthesis, giving way for a significant reduction of the surgery duration, and still makes it possible for the patient to have a virtual perspective of the foreseen post-operative result. The system includes the following steps: recognizing data from systems of medical imaging; setting a virtual personalized model of surgical prosthesis; pre-operative simulation of the predictable final result of the surgical intervention; sending control points to the controller (9) using local- or remote communication via web; automatic initial positioning of the surgical prosthesis in the desired position; automatic and mechanical bending of surgical prosthesis (6) with real time monitoring and control.

La présente invention concerne un système de modelage/flexion d'une prothèse chirurgicale (6) utilisée pour la correction du thorax en entonnoir, permettant sa personnalisation pré-opératoire selon la morphologie thoracique de chaque patient. Sur la base des informations de la tomodensitométrie thoracique, le système permet l'application d'une prothèse personnalisée, laquelle donne lieu à une réduction significative de la durée de l'intervention chirurgicale et permet au patient d'avoir une perspective virtuelle du résultat post-opératoire prévu. Le système comporte les étapes suivantes : reconnaissance des données de systèmes d'imagerie médicale ; élaboration d'un modèle virtuel personnalisé de la prothèse chirurgicale ; simulation pré-opératoire du résultat final prévisible de l'intervention chirurgicale ; envoi des points de contrôle à l'unité de commande (9) à l'aide d'une communication locale ou éloignée par l'intermédiaire d'internet ; mise en place initiale automatique de la prothèse chirurgicale dans la position souhaitée ; flexion automatique et mécanique de la prothèse chirurgicale (6) avec surveillance et contrôle en temps réel.
