Abstract:
(EN) A bone plate system for internal fixation of bone fractures includes a bone plate having a plurality of bone plate holes. The holes are constructed to receive either a non-locking, locking, or variable angle locking bone screw. The holes have discrete columns of thread segments arranged around the inner surface of the hole for engaging threads on the heads of locking and variable angle locking bone screws. Conventional locking bone screws engage the bone plate coaxially with the central axis of the bone plate hole. Variable angle locking bone screws can engage the bone plate at a selectable angle within a range of angles relative to the bone plate. The head of the variable angle locking screw is at least partially spherical, and the thread thereon has a profile that follows the arc-shaped radius of curvature of the spherical portion of the screw head.
(FR) L'invention concerne un système de plaque vissée pour la fixation interne de fractures osseuses qui comprend une plaque vissée présentant une pluralité de trous de plaque vissée. Les trous sont conçus pour recevoir une vis à os sans blocage, à blocage ou à blocage à angle variable. Les trous comportent des colonnes discrètes de segments de filetage disposées autour de la surface interne du trou afin d'engager les filetages sur les têtes des vis à os à blocage et à blocage à angle variable. Les vis à os à blocage classiques s'engagent dans la plaque vissée coaxialement avec l'axe central du trou de la plaque vissée. Les vis à os à blocage à angle variable peuvent s'engager dans la plaque vissée à un angle sélectionnable dans une plage d'angles par rapport à la plaque vissée. La tête de la vis à blocage à angle variable est au moins partiellement sphérique et le filetage sur celle-ci a un profil qui suit le rayon de courbure en forme d'arc de la partie sphérique de la tête de la vis.
